Dublin Airport

1.  Leave the airport following signs for the M50
2.  At the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the M1 southbound heading for Dublin
3.  At Junction 1 exit onto the M50 southbound towards N2 / N3 / N4 / N7 / N11 / N81
– this road is a electronic toll road which must be paid by 8pm the following day. ¬†Call 1800 50 10 50 or go to¬†www.eflow.ie. ¬†You will need your car registration number and a credit card to pay. ¬†Cost for a car is currently ‚ā¨3.00
4. ¬†At Junction 7 exit onto the N4 following signs for Galway / Sligo then follow the “All Routes” instructions below
5.  Take the N4 West towards Galway / Sligo
6. ¬†This road becomes the M4. ¬†There is a toll on this road payable in Euros at the toll booth. ¬†‚ā¨2.70
7. ¬†At Junction 11 exit onto the M6 for Galway / Athlone. ¬†This road is a toll road payable in Euros at the toll booth. ‚ā¨1.80
8. Continue past Athlone, Ballinasloe, Loughrea and take the exit for Oranmore / N18.  (n.b. if you miss this exit carry on to the end of the motorway and then follow signs towards Limerick / N18.  This will bring you onto the same road)
9. ContinuGalwaye on the N18 passed Oranmore, through Clarinbridge until Kilcolgan (about 12km)
10.  In Kilcolgan turn RIGHT (just after the petrol station) onto the N67 towards Kinvarra / Ennistimon
11. ¬†Continue c.16km, through Ballinderreen, Kinvarra and then turn LEFT up the “Corker” hill and continue for 10km
n.b. This junction is:
–¬† 6 km beyond Kinvarra
Р recognisable by the many signs at the base of it
Р is signed for Carron and Boston
(If you miss this turning either turn round or continue on round the coast on the N67, passed the school and then the church.  At Bell Harbour (the road bends sharply to the right at the junction) turn LEFT towards Carron and the Burren Perfumery.  At the T junction at the end of the road turn RIGHT and you are back on the road you would have been on.)
12.  On the way you will pass:
–¬†a right turn for ‘Bell Harbour & Ballyvaughan
– two more right turns
Рthrough a small unsigned village (Turlough)
– Cusack’s football pitch on the left – a big grey wall with plants growing up it and flood lights behind
Рthrough a cutting in the rock where the road bends sharply.  This brings you into our valley
– two 2-storey houses close together
– a small white bungalow
13. Turn RIGHT onto the gravel road.
14.  Turn RIGHT at the T-junction opposite the white bungalow
15.  Keep right when the road splits.  n.b. please be careful on this corner as this is a two way road
16.  You will find us in the blue cottage on the right


Dun Laoghaire

1.  Follow signs for the M50 North towards N1, N2 , N3, N4, N7
ie:
– head northwest on George’s Street Upper towards Patrick St (21m)
– turn 1st LEFT onto Patrick Street (550m)
– turn RIGHT onto Tivoli Road (500m)
– turn LEFT onto Mounttown Lower
– at roundabout take 3rd exit onto Kill Lane. Continue for 2.5km
– turn RIGHT onto Stillorgan Road / N11
– turn LEFT onto Leopardstown Road and straight through the next roundabout following signs for the M50 / R113
– at the roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the M50 towards N1/ N2 / N3 / N4 / N7
2.  Continue on the M50 to Junction 7
3.  Exit M50 at junction 7 onto the N4 towards Galway / Sligo
4.  Take the N4 West towards Galway / Sligo

Dublin Port

This route avoid the tolls on the East Link Toll Bridge, Port Tunnel Entrance and the M50.

1.  Leave Dublin Port heading west along N Wall Quay into Dublin City Centre.
2.  Follow signs for N4
Р This will take you along N Wall Quay Ext, onto E Wall Rd, across a roundabout onto N Wall Quay which becomes Custom House Quay.
Р Cross the river by turning left onto the R105 (opposite the IFSC.  This is all part of a one way system so should be obvious)
– at the end of the bridge turn right onto George’s Quay, past Burgh Quay, Aston Quay and onto Victoria Quay where the road bends to the left around Heuston Station. ¬†This is the N4
3. ¬†Continue out of Dublin on the N4 then follow “All Routes” directions below
